This is for non-religious postings.

I decided that I needed a topic area for fellow posters responding to my comments elsewhere on the net and blogs.  Please use this area for topics and discussion that does not directly relate to the subject of my other postings here at FAITH.  I appreciate discussion from everyone.  Y'all come back now, hear!

First Thoughts?

As the name implies:
  1.  This is a work in progress.
  2.  Faith begins by First Accepting In The Heart.

I am Lutheran, my brother is Baptist, my best friend is Roman Catholic.  I had a great teacher, for Hebrew, who is Messianic.  I have been in several countries where people are different denominations yet they all have commonalities.  I am using this blog to jot my thoughts and hopefully have others contribute their thoughts to the discussion.  Please join in.

I am not looking at the doctrinal differences.  We know that the disciples had differences yet they did not allow that to overcome their commonalities.  What do you think are the common beliefs, thoughts, expressions, etc. that make us Christian?

Concept

Where do you start but at the beginning.

This is the beginning of a journey.  Instead of posting about what makes one Christian denomination different than others, I want to know what makes our faith Christian.  I believe there are absolutes in the Christian faith. 

While we may walk different paths (Messianic, Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, etc.):
  1.  Where is the catholic church?
  2.  What are those absolutes that allow us to acknowledge another as Christian?
  3.  What would all Christians have in common?
  4.  What documents, do we acknowledge as given to us by God, that are held in common by Christians?

This is just the beginning of the journey/quest for that long forgotten/abandoned unity that was given by Yeshua and spread by the apostles not only in Judea but to all nations.  I invite your comments and additions to this journey but I do ask that everyone keep to one simple rule: Use our Lord's highest commandment, that of "Love the Lord your God" when writing your comments.
